THIS VIBRATION: heart matters

Sounds from a new dimension...Iman Omari has been channeling some serious vibrations. I love how much emotions he's able to layer with his sound-it takes real craftsmanship. A breath of fresh air, an artist to look out for.

THIS WEDNESDAY:Her Word As Witness: Women Writers of the African Diaspora Photography by Laylah Amatullah Barrayn presents: In Conversation: Sonia Sanchez & jessica Care moore

I had the pleasure to design a flyer for Brooklyn-based photographer Laylah Amatullah Barrayn's exhibit of 35 contemporary Black women writers entitled Her Word As Witness. The exhibit and the concurrent lecture series has been highly successful (Read an interview with Laylah about the exhibit here). This coming Wednesday, the series welcomes Sonia Sanchez & jessica Care moore. Sonia Sanchez is one of the most important writers/activists, I'm very excited to see her talk. This is also a chance to see Laylah's exhibit which is on view in the Skylight Gallery on the 3rd floor. The talk is at the Billie Holiday Theater, 1368 Fulton Street, Brooklyn.
